Trend is an
operating unit of the
Taylor Made Group,
Gloversville, New York

Trend has been manufacturing various glazing products for the marine leisure industry for over 30 years. Formed in 1973, the Company started producing mainly flat glass in aluminium frames. By the end of the 1970s, it had moved on to the high quality stainless steel frames for which it is renowned today.

In 1995 the Company invested £1 million in a purpose-built plant, designed specifically for bending and toughening glass. This further enhanced its success and reputation by combining in-house glass bending and tempering with advanced metal forming.

Trend was acquired in September 2004 by the Taylor Made Group, the leading supplier of both glass and marine products in the US.

More recently the Company has invested in a digital glass printing system, believed to be the only one of its kind in the marine industry. This equipment enables the printing of much larger, single piece side windows of up to 3.1m for large yachts and powerboats.

Continual investment is part of the Company’s ongoing programme and includes a recently built 12,000 sq ft extension to the glass processing facility and a new 36,500 sq ft assembly factory. These bring the total factory and office space to 150,000 sq ft on a 12 acre site.
