Portlights, Deck Hatches and Hull Glazing

Portlights

Trend Marine offers a range of Blue Riband portlights in the most common and popular sizes used on RCD vessels.

Manufactured in highly polished 316 stainless steel, our Blue Riband portlights are glazed in glass or acrylic in various tints, and opening versions are secured using easily operable thumbscrews.  Our portlights can be fitted with microswitches for added indication of status at the helm.

For bespoke applications, Trend Marine offer a Signature range of portlights to match the style and trim of your vessel.  Also manufactured in 316 stainless, these portlights can be made in oversize dimensions and elaborate shapes.  These portlights are tested and approved to RCD or MCA standards, using approved glazing solutions such as laminated glass, and storm covers or blanking plates when required.

Our portlight range can be supplied with mosquito screens if required.

Deck Hatches

Trend Marine’s deck hatches are available in framed or unframed versions to enhance the exterior look of your vessel. We can offer most conventional size deck hatches, but can also provide custom sizes to suit any application. Large flybridge deck hatches are also manufactured in house.

Designed and tested to ISO12216 as well as RINA Commercial Yacht codes, Trend Marine’s framed deck hatches can be manufactured with highly polished 316 stainless steel or painted aluminium frames, and glazed with acrylic, glass, or even laminated glass.

Lightweight deck hatches for RCD vessels can use an adjustable friction stay to hold the hatch open, while our heavier duty deck hatches can use gas springs to support the hatch during operation.

Our smaller deck hatches can be offered with mosquito screens if required and inner trims.

Hull Glazing

Available in fixed or opening options, Trend Marine’s hull glazing can offer a uniquely stylish solution to enhance light and space below the weatherdeck.

Large fixed windows, manufactured from laminated glass and tested to pressures up to 20 metres, are a fashionable addition to any vessel, while our smaller and lighter acrylic windows can be fitted to RCD-sized boats.

Hull glazing fitted with an opening unit offers a flush and neat solution to enhance the clean lines of your vessel, with no frame visible from the exterior.  In addition to our portlight range, our opening hull glazing can also be fitted with microswitches for added indication of status at the helm. Our lightweight units fitted with acrylic or monolithic tempered glass can be used in ISO12216 Area II, while our more robust units fitted with laminated glass have been certified for use in ISO12216 Area I, with other options available for use on RINA Commercial yachts.

A standard-size rectangular opening hull glazing unit is available, for RCD Area 1 applications.  This can be integrated into a free-form glazing system, including fixed panes of laminated glass.

We also have a selection of circular portlight choices which can be combined with some hull glazing options.
