Thermal Toughening

The traditional method for producing safety rated glass, Trend Marine have several plants to produce flat or single and bi-curvature toughened marine glass.

The glass heated above its annealing point of about 720°C (1,328°F). The glass is then rapidly cooled with forced air drafts while the inner portion remains free to flow for a short time.

Thermally tempered glass can also be laminated or used on IGUs (Insulated glazing units).

Samples of all toughened glass are impact tested to ensure they conform to ISO614. In keeping with our ISO9001 procedures all tests are recorded and audited.
