Trend Marine Expands

April 25, 2018

Trend Marine are to expand and take on a new unit in Plymouth after experiencing double digit growth over the last 12 months.

The unit is part of a new development, Oceansgate, that is being developed as a marine enterprise zone on ex-Ministry of Defence land.

Other confirmed marine businesses include Surejust and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

“The new unit offers Trend a service and storage facility in the heart of the South West plus an engineering and technical base,” explained Trend Marine director of sales and service Jim Bolton. “This will allow us to offer a more localised and focused support to our key customers in Plymouth and the surrounding area and further support our ongoing growth and expansion.”

Healthy order books

He added: “Our order books are healthy and we continue to invest in people, place and process in order to future proof the business.”

Both Trend Marine and Surejust are suppliers to Princess Yachts and the new location will enable them to work closer with the yacht builder.

“We’re very pleased to be one of the first tenants in this prestigious and important investment in the area.It will enable us to continue to develop our business with Princess and offer an improved supply,” said Bradley Higgs, Trend Marine MD.

The development is being promoted by Plymouth City Council and the Local Enterprise Partnership. The new buildings – phase one of the project – were officially opened recently by leader of Plymouth City Council, Ian Bowyer.

Construction of phase two is due to start next year.
